Silva is an award winning freelance outdoor writer, photographer, and humorist with over 40 years of experience fishing inland and coastal waters in the US and Canada. John is an active member in the New England Outdoor Writer’s Associationand has published instructional features and columns ranging in content from tips, tackle, rigging, and techniques; to anecdotal material including outdoor humor, cooking, and even motion-sickness remedies. His literary work and photography have been featured in a number of popular outdoor publications, including On the Water Magazine, Eastern Fly Fishing, Sporting Classics, Coastal Angler, and The Fisherman Magazine among others. During his travels, John has become well versed in a wide range of fishing tackle and techniques from coast to coast. A dedicated, 12-month-a-year, all-weather, all-tackle angler, John has remained true to his belief that the “fun” in fishing is foremost. |

Captain JimAtlantic Adventures Captain “Jim” is no stranger to the Portland waterfront. He has worked on boats here since he was 11 years old. Starting with Capt. Dick Yates on the Lazy Days. Working with Capt. Dan Libby on the Indian II. Capt. Jim has held a 100 Ton Merchant Marine Masters license for over 20 years. Working as captain for Deep Sea Fishing, whale watching, and corporate yachts along the coast of Maine. He is also a Dive Master, Rescue Diver, Registered Maine Guide, and has fished and dove around the world. His sea stories, local knowledge, and adventures will amaze you. Ask him about the whale rescue, many television shows, or huge fish he has caught. You will feel his passion for what he does!!! |
